List of Qualified FA Coaches continues to grow
Over the Summer a number of Club volunteers went on FA sponsored Coaching course covering such areas as first aid, child protection and coaching skills. Every Elvington Harrier team now has at least one FA qualified Coach, see individual team sections. This brings the Club one step nearer to its FA Charter Standard ambition. New Senior Team Manager appointed
We are pleased to announce that Jim Stewart will be taking over as Senior Team manager for the 2007/8 season, when the team will be looking for an immediate return to Division 1, and success in the Junior Cups. Jim was by far the ideal candidate having been a former Harriers player and already well known amongst the players. As announced previously Chas Thornton will be stepping down as the current Senior Team Manager after this season. More on Chas’s achievements with the team to follow.

10 more apply for FA coaching course
10 applications from the Elvington Harriers Club have now been submitted for the FA Level 1 Coaching courses this Summer. This is great news as it brings the Club one step nearer to FA Charter standard. Thanks to everyone who have put their name forward and to Chas for all the paperwork! It is hoped that all players and teams (junior & senior) will benefit from having FA qualified coaches. It is worth noting that the cost of the courses is initially being met by the applicants themselves and is another example of how the Club relies on the time and effort put in by volunteers. Please support our fundraising activities whenever possible.

Team Managers get together to
discuss future plans
The Club has had a very proactive meeting to discuss its future plans. Good news is that all the junior team managers (players provided) agreed to take their teams in to the next season.
The Club also agreed to push forward with its ambition to gain FA status, this means that all our managers/coaches will need to be FA certified, something we’re looking into.

Did you know...
...we have a football boot exchange system? We have a large collection of Junior sized boots that parents / players have kindly donated. All we ask is that you either exchange them for your old pair (must be clean though) or put in a small donation if you’re not exchanging. The boot box is located in the changing rooms. The same applies to shin pads and goal keeper gloves.
